Sign Image’s relationship with Steers — and with Famous Brands as a whole — started with a single store. In 1999, a Steers franchisee asked us to manufacture new signage for his Waterglen store.

About a week after that job was done, Sign Image founder Shan Crafford received a call from Peter Halamandaris, then CEO of Steers Holdings (the company that would go on to become Famous Brands). That call was the start of a relationship that has now run for over 25 years and more than 100 Steers sites.

A drive-through Steers is a system of signs working together — the pylon that catches the eye from the road, the illuminated fascia that confirms the destination, the height restriction at the lane entrance, and the menu and directional signage that keep cars moving. We fabricate the structures, faces and lighting as one package at our Centurion factory, keeping the day-and-night appearance consistent across sites and refresh cycles.

Famous Brands is constantly rolling out new stores and revamping existing ones across its stable — Steers, Debonairs, Mugg & Bean, Wimpy, Fishaways and more — and that one Waterglen job is where all of it began.
